unexpected Saturday max day

After soaking up the sun for a few hours and getting burnt in the process, I decided to travel to Monaghan to see if I could stir my brother into lifting. With sore thighs from Thursdays squatting I intended to lift light.
Snatch 40x3; 50x3; 55x3; 60x3; 65x1; 70x1 [fail] 70x1 [fail] 70x1; 75x1[pb] 77.5x3[pb]; 80x1 [close] Sean didn't bother to snatch much. Alot mof kids around, adults, tractors, footballs flying. My concentration is now very good. I dont let negative thoughts enter.
Clean and Jerk. Sean finally stirred himself to 2 pb's 82.5 and 85kg c+j which equalled the masters record for his age. Maybe this will encourage him to train properly.
Brendan's c+j 60x3; 70x2; 80x2; 90x1; 100x1; 105 fail [clean very hard and strength left. ]
My total was 177.5kg which I was pleased about.
Deadlift 90x3; 110x3; 130x3; 150x1; 170x1; 128x1; 190x1.
I am going to give myself 2 days off now to rest the legs which are aching.

  1. enjoyed the lifting, strangely had no muscle pain after, so a light week this week, started on Sunday actually, will aim for technique snatch to max and jerk to 60kg + as technique is the biggest hurdle for me, once i can get it vertical instead of a foot in front it is bound to add 10kg, after that I will have to start squatting as my squat max will be same as my jerk, will throw in a few deadlifts too, aiming to increase to 117.5 by 1 to 117.5 by 20 by June 30
